Whenever I send out birthday cards I’ve always added in a small gift card for McDonalds.  A little treat for the recipient to have a shake and burger on me. As I was sending our a few cards last month to some friends, including one who I got to know during my work with schools for the 2017 eclipse. I wondered what I could do to recognize the upcoming 2023 and 2024 eclipses, and then looked over at some glasses I had sitting on the shelf.  I grabbed two pair and added them to the cards and send them out along with this handout from NASA about safety observing a solar eclipse.

Turns out, my spur of the moment idea was a huge hit! They loved the glasses and info sheet, so I’ve changed things up a bit and now for the next 9 months or so I have a new birthday surprise for friends and family – one that doesn’t break the bank, but one that they appreciate and can make good use out of!  Plus, the glasses are lightweight enough you can easily put them in any card and not have to worry about extra postage.  Bonus!

So next time you’re wondering how to show some appreciation for a special day, why not give the gift that will get them excited about the solar eclipse and you can guaranteed will be used.  Our fifty-pack special is more than enough for even the largest friend list, and with our free shipping makes it ultra-affordable.  And, even better, you don’t have to worry about if it will fit or if it is there style!

Plus, if you are like me, for those friends who are the same age as I am I toss a note in that says “You can use these for the solar eclipse and for putting on while you blow all those candles out on your cake!”  Who says you can’t have a bit of fun? 🙂
